Sexual desire is becoming a topic with increased interest, not only because of its impact in the clinical psychology level, but as a social phenomenon of the importance for human people to be “sexually healthy”. Many studies have focused on the factors and influence of the rising or decreasing levels of sexual desire in a certain moment or affected by a certain issue. However, not a lot of research has been made to investigate in a longitudinal basis the effects of different psychological and physiological variables in sexual desire. This present study therefore uses a diary where data was collected during at least 90 consecutive days thanks to 82 female students of psychology of mean age 22 from the University Jaume I of Castellon (Spain). We used the latest methodological procedure to analyze the results: intensive longitudinal method. It was found out that the levels of sexual desire increase during the ovulation phase and that this effect has a negative correlation with sadness or depressed mood. Furthermore, the results showed that the levels of sexual desire in a certain day have impact on posterior days, therefore concluding that there exists a positive correlation with sexual desire and its levels in later days.ca_CA
