dc.description.abstract | In modern culture zombies are now in the mainstream. They have become an important element in films, books and TV series recently. This paper aims to analyse the modern zombie and also the Lovecraftian zombie as a possible reference for the oririgin of moderns description of this myth. For this, this study describes the main traits of the modern zombie based on up-to-date films, video games, and different sources. The paper is based on H. P. Lovecraft’s original short stories in order to approach the insight into Lovecraft’s zombie. The differences between the zombie from the 19th century and the one displayed nowadays are considered. It appears that albeit two centuries have passed since Lovecraft wrote about zombies, still nowadays they present almost the same features. | ca_CA |
