RETA: análisis de la reformulación de sus postulados proteccionales en el camino hacia la convergencia con el régimen general

Abstract

El Régimen especial de los trabajadores autónomos se ha sometido a cambios normativos que han afectado a la reformulación de los postulados tradicionales que hasta el momento han venido guiando la protección social del trabajador autónomo. Uno de estos cambios apuesta por la intensificación de la acción protectora por la vía de elevar la contributividad del trabajador independiente, otro por la obligatoriedad de la cobertura de los riesgos profesionales y el tercero, por la aparición de la figura de la protección social del autónomo a tiempo parcial. El cómo se vaya a conseguir la implantación de estos nuevos postulados y el tiempo que se tarde en ello depende de las nuevas normas reglamentarias que se elaboren y de la efectiva implicación del autónomo en el proceso, algo que ha de venir de la mano de la mejora de su protección social convergiendo hacia la ofrecida al trabajador por cuenta ajena. Para ayudar a ello, a la vista del complejo entramado normativo que rige este Régimen especial, sería deseable que se abordara ya la tarea de actualizar, adaptar y refundir sus normas.
