Treball Final de Màster Universitari en Professor/a d'Educació Secundària Obligatòria i Batxillerat, Formació Professional i Ensenyaments d'Idiomes. Codi: SAP129. Curs: 2013/2014ca_CA
This master's dissertation has been elaborated to pinpoint and highlight the necessity to consider why and how to plan courses, units or lessons since they will determine the feasibility of the plan; to provide reasons to plan and the importance of not leaving teaching as an arbitrary activity, but consider it as an activity which does require to be reflected upon, systematised and planned; to approach methodology in a viable and uncomplicated way to enable teachers to plan fruitfully; to follow the guidelines that the Administration establishes and define which are the elements which need to be present in a syllabus design; and to present a proposal of planning for the 3rd term of the 3rd year of Compulsory Secondary Education (CSE). Therefore, the structure of this dissertation has been developed as follows: the first part consists in the establishment of the theoretical framework which includes a brief introduction on the considerations to justify the design of the present dissertation. Then, I introduce the reasons which support the idea of planning in education, together with a suggested definition of planning. After that, I make a distinction among the different planning levels or stages. Later, I describe which the main constituents of a syllabus need to be according to the Administration. Next, I define some models of lesson planning. Finally, I develop a proposal on methodology to plan a course, unit or lesson. The second part consists in the design of a planning proposal for the 3rd term of the 3rd year of Compulsory Secondary Education (CSE) for the students who I got to know during my practical stay. The three units I include have been created according to the theoretical concepts that have been described throughout the theoretical framework. Teachers usually think that the teaching process is an arduous and demanding task, not only when teaching in class, but also when planning their courses since it requires a lot of time and effort to develop an adequate design. However, planning may not be left to impromptu creation, but deeply reflected upon and it may be subject to adjustments. For this reason, I have reflected upon which steps we, as teachers, need to follow when planning a syllabus, the reasons and the methodology we may apply.ca_CA
