| dc.description.abstract | This study offers a qualitative analysis of the strategic use of humor during the demonstration known as Occupy Wall Street from a pragmatic perspective. It aims to provide an answer for the reasons and means by which the demonstrators used humor according to the General Verbal Theory of Humor (Attardo & Raskin 1994) as well as the Cooperative Principle (Grice 1975) and Speech Acts theories (Austin 1962).
