Abstract

The existence of different international entities has caused that, throughout history, a great amount of conflicts because of the contrast existing between the ideologies and interests of these international entities, mainly States. The international community has been aiming to create series of rules in order to restrict the use of humanizing war and conflict. In addition to that, they have been creating groups and organizations in order to establish a peaceful settlement for disputes and a catalog of just wars, in oder words, to legitimize the resort to war. However, it was not until the Briand-Kellogg Pact when the resource of using war as a mean for settling disputes was otlawed, thus leading to World War II (1939- 1945).
