García Monerris, Carmen
This article seeks to discuss some of the conclusions V. Llombart’s study arrives at about the figure and the meaning of the count of Campomanes in the context of absolutism during the second half of the XVIIIth century. More specifically, it calls in question the idea of an action led by a reforming possibilism, half way between the non-enlightenment and the revolution, which would permit, besides, to establish a doubtful line of continuity among some of the reforms of the second half of the century and the plans of Cádiz. It proposes, on the contrary, to reintroduce an interpretative logic not so attached to the schemes of “market” and “state”.

This work presents a general view of land privatization and of the use of Spanish public forest during the second half of the XIXth century and the first third of the XXth century. Main characteristics of that process are defined for the whole Spain starting from available statistics, which are criticized and modified in some ways. The diversity of that process is also set off, trough the study of several regional cases. Afterwards, a hypothesis is posed, and it is that the liberal reform aimed not only the establishment of the “perfect property”, but also to guarantee new ways of accumulation in order to be adapted to a different ecological, economic and social conditions in every place.

Franch Benavent, Ricardo
Esta evolución reflejaba un cambio sustancial en el cultivo de la morera, que se fue convirtiendo cada vez más en una producción secundaria ante la mayor rentabilidad que ofrecían otras alternativas.; Through the analysis of different sources, it has been possible to obtain a wide range of information about the evolution of the silk crop of the País Valenciano (E. of Spain) during the XVIII century. The described tendency by the total production is moderately decreasing. But the most significative of all was the experience changes in its geographical distribution, which suffered a strong regression in the most important and productive areas that was only mildly offset by the increased production of the neighbouring areas. This development reflected a substantial change in the cultivation of the mulberry tree, which was becoming more and more secundary crop against the increasing rentability that was offered by other alternative products.

This study analyzes some aspects of the history of the transhumance in the kingdom of Castile during the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, when this economic activity experienced a certain “boom”, as a result of the fact that the “merino” wool was then increasingly demanded in the European markets. Particular attention is paid to the question of how the transhumant sheep owners provided summer pastures to their flocks, especially in the mountain areas of the Iberian System of Castile. Conflicts between local and foreign sheep owners are described, and finally some contrasts between the northern and the southern sector of the region are analyzed.
