This study aims to perform a systematic review of the scientific literature of the last five years (2010-2014) of scientific articles included in the data base Socopus, in order to determine which are the most comorbid disorders or clinical symptoms with the borderline personality disorder (BPD). First of all, it was done a broad search for those articles that included in the abstract the keywords “borderline personality disorder” and “comorbidity”. Then, by doing this, the search was carried out more specifically each time. After this second systematic search, it was carried out a pre-selection of articles by title (choosing those considered more relevant to the purpose of this study). Then, two more pre-selections were made, now depending on the content of the abstract. After applying the different filters, 38 articles were included, which were fully explored one by one in order to meet the objective of this study. The literature review shows that the most comorbid disorders with BPD were mood disorder, anxiety disorder, substance use disorder, personality disorders (antisocial and narcissistic) and eating disorders. However, an important aspect is that we should not forget the existence of individual differences in every clinical manifestation. Moreover, it is more important to make a dimensional approach to these conditions than knowing the categories comorbid with BPD. It is because subclinical conditions could not being detected as comorbid if we approach them from a categorical approach.
