Academic tests are a source of stress that can have a negative impact on the achievement motivation, on the cognitive processing and perfomance. The Control Perception (CP) can help to develop an effective coping, facilitating information processing and increasing the likelihood of achieve the desired result. Objective: analyze the effect of the control perception on the Achievement Motivation (AM) of a goal and its attaintment (performance). Sample: consists of 89 univesity students from the second year of the Psychology degree. A brief scale was used to measure the variables studied: control preception and achievement motivation . The performance was evaluated by an exam. The results show that the control perceptio influences significantly in achievement motivation a goal after the exam. Only achievement of motivation assessed after the exam was significantly related to performance.
