The purpose of this research paper is to show that vocabulary can be taught in different ways. In order to prove that, I implemented a lesson plan in a secondary school in which the main goal is using specific vocabulary in real usage. I decided to design a project work for this lesson plan which is an innovative way of teaching vocabulary. When designing the lesson plan, I had in my mind not only the acquisition of the specific vocabulary but the improvement of all the learning skills, but most of all, speaking. The main objectives of this paper are: on the one hand, to show the benefits of project work instruction in the acquisition of vocabulary and on the other hand, to assess the implementation of the lesson plan.
In order to carry out my paper, I will investigate the features of project work instruction giving definitions and different points of view by different researchers. Then I will explain the lesson plan and finally I will discuss all the results that come out in the implementation of the lesson plan.
